Are You Stalling? Schedule a Colonoscopy Today
“I don’t have the time.” -- “It’s embarrassing.” -- “I heard the preparation is difficult.”
These are just a few of the reasons why Delawareans refuse to get a colonoscopy. But colon cancer — the third-leading cause of cancer death among men and women in Delaware — is preventable, treatable and beatable. Don’t make excuses. Whether you’re on-time or long overdue, get screened for colon cancer!
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 90 percent of colon cancer cases occur in people age 50 and older. If you are in this age group, talk to your doctor. For your loved ones who are 50 years or older, give them a nudge. Remind them about the importance of a colonoscopy.
